I came to RKS from finance and risk, to support a vision I deeply believe in. Mental health is fundamental to a peaceful, meaningful life, and supporting children means supporting the parents and teachers who shape their world.

Founder & CEO

Mr. R.K. Selvakrishna

Child Psychologist

I entered psychology almost unexpectedly. Coming from a commerce background, I had little idea of what psychology truly was when a school accountant who knew me well suggested that I consider the field. I trusted his advice, and my first-semester course in Child Psychology changed the direction of my life.

My growing interest in child development took me from India to the University of Greenwich, London, where I pursued my MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychology. My experience working in UK schools as a Wellbeing Assistant gave me a deeper understanding of children, school wellbeing and the importance of early support.

I returned to India with a simple ambition: to build something meaningful in mental healthcare, particularly around children, families and their development.

RKS is the beginning of that vision — an institution built on the belief that mental healthcare should be approachable, respectful and a normal part of life. Through RKS, I hope to contribute to a future where people seek support without shame and where every person is understood beyond a diagnosis.

“The person in front of RKS is not another patient. They are one among us.”

Ms. Idanya Ramakrishnan

Chartered Accountant · Finance and Risk Management

My journey into RKS comes from a different professional world. As a Chartered Accountant and Risk Analyst, my career has been rooted in finance and risk, but my belief in the importance of mental health has always been deeply personal.

I have supported Selvakrishna from the very beginning, especially when he chose to step away from the expected path and pursue psychology. I believed in his vision because I share the same fundamental belief: when mental health is supported, people are better able to live their lives with peace, stability and purpose.

One idea that became an important part of RKS was simple: why not bring mental-health support into schools?

Children spend a significant part of their lives in school, and supporting their mental wellbeing early can help make mental health a more familiar and less stigmatized part of growing up. But supporting children also means supporting the parents and teachers who shape their world.

That belief became part of the foundation of RKS — supporting students, empowering parents and recognising the wellbeing of teachers.

RKS will be a place where people can understand mental health, seek support without hesitation, and live healthier and more meaningful lives.
